ARTIST BIO
K Dalton is a multi-media artist from Providence, Rhode Island. Fascinated by the tension between function and form that exists at the intersection of craft and art, K moves between mediums with each new project in order to best take advantage of the variety of communication styles available. This allows them to bring a broad swathe of knowledge and techniques to each project, accentuating their chosen themes in a unique combination of ways. Connecting their work are themes of identity as defined by bodily perception and performance, explored by using patterns in external media as a lens through which to contextualize their own personal experiences and observations.
K is largely self-taught. Professionally, their experience includes completing a seasonal residency in ceramics at the Steel Yard in Providence, editing creative writing for a literary magazine, showing paintings locally, and illustrating for published works such as the Virginia Travel Guide.
When forced to put the visual art down and give their wrists a break, K loves curling up with a good speculative fiction novel and their cranky cat, Boo.
